Happy St David's Day
For those who don't know it, Today (March 1st) is St David's Day.
St David is the patron saint of Wales and was one of the first people to bring the gospel into Wales, way back in 589AD
The Flag of St David is associated with Wales and appears as a black field with a gold cross . This flag was originally taken from the Coat of Arms of the Diocesan of St David. The black and gold (yellow) flag is flown in Wales today as well as the Red Dragon. It's true meaning represented the 'Light of the Gospel, brought into the Darkness'
The most famous story about Saint David tells how he was preaching to a huge crowd and the ground is said to have risen up, so that he was standing on a hill and everyone had a better chance of hearing him.
St David's Day has been a national festival in Wales since the 18th century, and is still marked with gusto. Many people will wear either a daffodil or a leek, which are both symbols of Wales.
So, you are asking yourself, why am I holding a Daffodil in my mouth. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time and I was very unhappy I missed my Pancakes Yesterday. (They don't taste the same I have to say)

Ha! I thought it was Michael Palin at first, i did!
Hey! there was an article in our local paper today about St. David's Day! I was going to send you greetings to that effect and you beat me to it. Well Happy St. David's Day at any rate. Glad the Gospel went forth in Wales, otherwise my daughter may never have met your son and we couldn't have that, now could we?
no way, he's far better looking than michael palin, he is!
Ummm, I meant the younger, better looking version of Micahel Palin. Better?
It's a bit wierd actually because I almost picked up a hitch hiker a couple months ago because I thought he was Michael Palin. When I slowed right down and he started to approach the car i realised it wasn't Michael Palin and sped off.
Steve I think you should do a performance of "I'm a lumberjack" at church, maybe during the kids' slot.
oh, and Hapys Dydd Dewi Sant.
Awe! Steve you look sooo cute! Hehe!Haha! I saw that it was St. David's Day but the calendar didn't say for which country and I couldn't be bothered to check it out otherwise I would've told my kids all about it!
