Weekends are a time for rest????????

Hi
An update of the weekend........... they always start on Friday, don't they.............. with an expectation of a rest............. a quiet time............. a chance to re-charge the batteries

So what do we do Friday???? We get in the car about 7am and start out on a 5 1/2 hour journey to Frinton, on the south east coast, to see Gill's Mum, and sister Susan and husband Ben.

It's great to see them and we scoff down Fish and Chips (not great for the diet) in Sue & Ben's lounge before heading off to Southend.

What are we doing in Southend???

Gill is speaking at a women's conference called 'Flourish' at Westcliffe Baptist Church.

Did you know Southend has the longest pier in the World. It's so long you need to take a 5 minute train ride (or walk for over 30 minutes) to get to the ends of it.

We stayed overnight in a hotel on the seafront. Amazingly in mid October it's warm. Over 18 C.

The conference was well attended with about 60 ladies from all over the Southend area and from many different churches

Gill spoke from the story of Rahab. It was totaly brill although I'm probably very biased in my opinion

If you click this link below you can see some footage from my camera phone

and here for another

Then it was back in the car for another 5 hours back home. we talked about the possibility of starting Gill's Women's ministry called 'Daughters' again in North Wales. If you'd like to see it at i61, please comment here

Sunday was superb........ it was the dedication of Natalie and Kyria and we were packed with over 100 people crammed into our church/pub. Still waiting to see if we have any pics of that.

Fantastic time, we were all so blessed. Everyone cried at the clips of the babies growing up. Fab time.

Oh well, Sunday evening we crashed and watched Columbo............ Restful weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!
