Spiritual Awakening
I suppose I am just sensitive to what God is saying at the moment.
It's amazing how your spiritual senses sharpen at times of pressure.
I have always known the analogy that when Coal is put under pressure for long period of time it can become a Diamond, but for the first time I found on the net, the comment that Coal is made of 'Dead Living Things'.
Only God can make Diamonds out of Dead Living things !
George Whitfield, John Wesley and other standard bearers of historical revivals withstood harsh attacks from within the established church who complained bitterly of their unorthodox means of reaching people. They shook the system!
But they persisted in thinking outside the box.
Jesus too was slandered & ridiculed but still went after the people who needed him.
People can feel threatened by what they do not understand or is not the norm. But this does not make them right.
In the next 3 years God is going to shake this nation of ours out of it's place of complacency. There is to be a realisation in the church (an Awakening!!!!) that we are the 'Answers to our own Prayers'. That when we ask God to save people, he says GO and save them by sharing the Good News. Jesus said 'The fields are ripe unto Harvest'
When we ask God for 'Revival', he waits for us to 'GO' out and start it, ignite it, stoking the fires of Gods love in peoples hearts.
WE are the Answer........... church systems will be challenged...... as radical believers prepared to be the hands & feet of Jesus............. and 'GO'

I was 15 when I was saved, i found it very easy to believe all the stuff about God that i was being told, for me it was wonderful! My Dad was in his 50s when he got saved, it was both the most wonderful and most depressing moment of his life!! Everything that he knew that he knew was wrong, it had all changed. It's hard to stopp believing something that you've believed all your life. Don't know exactly why i shared that, Ha! but i did. so there it is.
I can feel the heat, the pressure is great. Some days I wonder if I will melt away as in the heat of the day as the Psalmist penned. My spirit cries out for Him and the unseen debts of who I am desires to be like Him. Yet, I too find myself choosing things that are not His best.
I love Psalm 32, it reads:
Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD" and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love
surrounds the man who trusts in Him.
Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
May He awaken in all, a heart after Him and draw us close to the beat of His heart. May He do the same for those who do not yet see their need for Him in it's fullness and live protected by a rebellious heart.
Lord we cry out for your Mercy!
Thanks for challenging me.
Hi Kelly
Sarah is not the only one pregnant with Gods purposes
Hi Christine
tell us some more
Wow, you are top of the blogging charts! I can hardly keep up!
I think the fact that we are often the answers to our own prayers misses a lot of people. It's easy to talk the talk, but when God says go and do it, people all too often just hide in a corner.
Safe Christianity is just that, safe, but safe also equals boring, and God is not boring, therefore safe Christianity is no Christianity at all.
God is calling His people to be radical, to challenge the phrases 'that's just the way it is' and 'this is now we've always done it' and bring in the new.
It's time for a new season!
It's just as well God is able to make something great and beautiful out of 'dead living things' because too much of His church is made up of 'dead living things' and I pray God takes it and makes diamonds of us.
